Did you know your Graves-Hume Public library card can be used at other libraries also? If you are free of fines or overdue books, you may use your library caard at almost any library in the state that offers reciprocal borrowing privileges! The loaning library borrowing policies must be followed. Restrictions may apply to certain cardholders.
If we do not have the item you would like to borrow we may be able to get it from another library. Graves-Hume Public Library is part of the Reaching Across Illinois Library system. We have access to the collectons of over 376 libraries!
Computers / Internet Use
Graves-Hume Library has eight computer terminals with Internet access available for patrons use! The Internet allows users to connect to networks of resources outside the library. Graves-Hume Public Library has no control over these resources nor does the library have complete knowledge of what is on the Internet. Information on the Internet may be reliable and current or it may be erroneous, out-of-date, illegal, offensive, controversial, or unavailable at times. Library users access the Internet at their own discretion. Staff will assist patrons as time permits, but cannot offer personal instruction.
All computer users will be asked to agree with our computer policy each time they log on to a computer. Prior to use of the library's computer systems, one needs to register at the front desk. Anyone not registered at the desk will be asked to leave immediately. Computer users will be asked to present a photo I.D. or library card. Patrons with overdue materials/fines will be asked to clear these up before they may use the computers.
Computer time is limited to one session of one hour at a time unless no one is waiting. Patrons may use an additional session, with a maximum usage of two sessions per day. Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the library staff. Computer use is free, printing is not. The cost of printouts is 25 cents per page for black and white, $1.00 for color. Patrons are responsible for paying for what they print. Costs are subject to change.
Children 17 and under must have a computer agreement signed by a parent or guardian, on file before they will be allowed to use the computers.
Children under the age of 10 must always be accompanied by a parent or guardian while using the computers.
Failure to adhere to library computer use rules will result in a one month loss of computer privileges for a first offense and permanent suspension of computer privileges for any additional offense.
